The google not only decides websites importance on only its backlinks but the googlebot reads each & every page on your site, matches it with your sites theme & gives you a index of importance which is called as pagerank. Generally it is assumed that site having lots of backlinks is very much important at googles search but google truly evaluates your sites importance. The policy of google is to give every internet users a high quality search which can give user whatever they want with less efforts. So contents are the most important factor for a web publisher.
Lots of website copyright their contents. Every unique publishing is automatically copyrighted in U.S. According to other countries copyrights are done. So on copying from a copyrighted website will be a crime & the action can be taken against the person. But their several site which gives you the contents on any subject for free. You have to only link to them. some sites are ezine articles & other article directories. But copying from these sites cannot give a good rank at google.
Before preparing contents one have to do some work like
